Counseling for Individuals, couples, and families

Relational Counseling

My training as a marriage and family therapist uniquely positions me with the necessary background to work with challenges faced by couples and families. I work with couples and families at various stages of their journey together in order to improve communication, relationship dynamics and closeness. Relationship conflicts, conflict over major decisions, transition to parenthood, parenting challenges, grief and loss over a loved one, pre-marital counseling, divorce, co-parenting are a few but not all of the reasons to seek relational counseling. Relational therapy is generally scheduled for 75 minutes in order to provide partners and family members with an opportunity to be heard.

Individual Counseling

Sessions for individual adults and adolescents that are experiencing life challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood swings, professional transitions, identity transitions, immigration and acculturation difficulties, grief and loss, or are feeling stuck in life due to the effect of traumatic experiences. I am passionate about what I do and I am interested in working with you through an integrated approach to deconstruct problem stories, overcome traumatic experiences and support you to achieve the desired changes in life.

 Therapeutic Relationship

This forms the core of our work together. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship where you will feel comfortable sharing your life story and challenges. It is during the course of our therapeutic relationship that we will work to deconstruct problem stories and scaffold new preferred identities through the use of a collaborative and integrative approach.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! I accept Aetna and Optum, which means I can bill them directly for my services. Hence, you are only responsible for the copay. If you are not insured by Aetna or Optum, I can provide a Superbill (detailed receipt) for you to submit for reimbursement of a portion of the fee. Your insurance company can tell you whether and for what amount you will be reimbursed.

  • I accept all major credit cards as well as FHA and HSA cards. I process payments electronically after each session through my client portal.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • This is a challenging question to answer as the pace at which healing takes place varies from individual to individual. However, we will be able to check in on progress throughout our therapeutic relationship and decide together whether we have reached the therapeutic goals or need more time.
